Title:
LOAD CONVERTER FOR DETECTING UPWARD/DOWNWARD FORCE ACTING ON SURFACE OF AUTOMOBILE RUNNING ROAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2753483
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load converter for detecting upward/downward force acting on surface of automobile running road which has sufficiently high sensitivity and resolution, a wide response frequency range, a large ratio between the working stress and breaking stress, and extremely small cross talk.
SOLUTION: Female screw holes 13 at the upper end of a strain starting body 12 and bolt holes 14 at the lower end of the body 12 are respectively engaged with the bolts of the pressure receiving plate and supporting base of an instrument for measuring force acting on road surface. When part of an upward or downward force is impressed upon a load introducing section 15, a reaction force is transmitted to the lower section of a third strain starting section 23 through a constricted part 29 and first to third strain starting sections 23-25 are compressed, because a load supporting section 16 is fixed to the supporting base. Since the section 25 is formed in a narrow thin body and the section 24 is formed in a thick body, the compressive strains generated between each slit 17-20 are concentrated to the section 25 and enlarged. The strains are detected as electric signals by means of strain gauges SG 1, etc.
