Title:
LOAD DISTRIBUTION BASED ON PRIORITY BETWEEN NON-COMMUNICATING PROCESSES IN TIME SHARING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3585755
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide load distribution based on priority between non- communicating processes in a time sharing system.
SOLUTION: A scheduler in each process reports load distribution of this process, which indicates a ratio of the load of subtasks having high priorities and that having low priorities, to an LBR 120. The LBR 120 discriminates a target ratio by the integrated load distribution ratio, and the target ratio is reported to each active process. In the case of a process which is occupied by subtasks having high priorities which account for a high proportion and consequently has load distribution lower than the target ratio, the process scheduler abandons a part of time slices assigned to this process by an operating system 118 when load distribution of the process reaches the target ratio.
