Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load drive device capable of detecting an open failure in a switching element included in any one phase of a three-phase inverter if any.SOLUTION: An ECU 60, after an inverter 30 shuts down, outputs an ON signal to one on the same side of switching elements on the upper side and the lower side in all of three phases of the inverter 30, and when current sensors 52, 54 detect half-wave AC in any phase, determines it that an open failure occurs in the switching element with an ON signal input in a phase in which half-wave AC is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
