Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load drive device that is able to minimize leak current caused by a voltage setting part that applies voltage while an output terminal has been disconnected.SOLUTION: In a load drive device 1, a DC power source VB is electrically conducted to a load 2 by a MOSFET 4. A disconnection circuit 10 outputs a detection signal while the output of an output terminal OUT is between a lower threshold voltage VtL and an upper threshold voltage VtH. A filter 14 outputs a disconnection detection signal to a control circuit 3 when the detection signal continues longer than a filter time Tf. While the voltage of the output terminal OUT is equal to or lower than the upper threshold voltage VtH and the input of a gate drive signal is off, a change-over circuit 21 turns on a change-over switch 18, and applies a disconnection detection voltage Vm by means of a voltage setting part 15. If in a normal state, the change-over switch 18 is turned on for only a short time and, therefore, leak current caused by the voltage setting part 15 can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
