The load measuring instrument for measuring the load on the display panel 12 includes a counter electrode driver 100, which supplies a counter electrode voltage VCOM to a counter electrode CE electrically connected to a counter electrode connecting point via a counter electrode connection point CEP provided to the display panel 12; and a panel load measuring unit 110, which receives a signal FBC for measurement through a connection point for counter electrode load measurement provided to the display panel 12 and electrically connected to the counter electrode CE and then finds the load on the display panel 12 by using the signal FBC for measurement.
