PURPOSE: To provide a load shape and load shift detecting device for a stacker crane, in which malfunction and false detection are absolutely eliminated.

CONSTITUTION: In a load shape and load shift detecting device of a stacker crane, one bent part 12 out of bent parts 12, 13 of a wire 10 formed into a U shape in section is connected to the stacker crane through a spring 15 provided with a detector for detecting the movement of the wire 10, and the other bent part 13 is connected to the stacker crane through a supporting body. By this structure, malfunction to be generated in acceleration and deceleration of the stacker crane can be eliminated, deformation caused by load shift is not generated, and false detection caused by the presence or absence of a seal tape can be eliminated.
