Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the mechanical strength of a load wheel as a whole and furthermore to reduce its cost by providing the disk part having a design part with a substantially spheroidized matrix structure and providing the rim part with a substantially fibrous matrix structure. SOLUTION: An aluminum wheel 1 has a hub 2 having an axle hole 2a and a disk part 4 having a design part 3 provided in the vicinity thereof. On the outer circumferential part (design side) of the disk part 4, a rim part 5 is formed integrally with the disk part 4 by casting. The aluminum wheel 1 is composed of an Al-Si-Mg series alloy, the disk part 4 has a substantially spheroidized matrix structure, and the rim part 5 obtains a substantially fibrous matrix structure. The Al-Si-Mg alloy is the one having a compsn. contg., by weight, 6.5 to 7.5% Si and 0.2 to 0.4% Mg, and the balance substantial Al with inevitable impurities. Si makes better the fluidity thereof, and Mg improves its mechanical properties and imparts heat treatability thereto.
