Title:
LOCAL ANNEALING METHOD FOR SPRING MATERIAL WITH ELECTRIC CONTACT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0512952
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent cracking or folding of a spring material fitted with electric contact even though it undergoes an acute angle bending process, a complicated bending process, etc., and also suppress the equipment costs by locating the W head of a TIG welding machine in such a way as mating with the position to be locally annealed.

CONSTITUTION: A PBR spring material 2 of 0.7mm thick and 47mm wide is fitted with an electric contact 1 of Ag having a thickness of 0.4mm and a width of 1.5mm. A W head 3 of a TIG welding machine is located as mating with that position of this spring member 2 which should undergo local annealing, and the arc current of the TIG welding machine is adjusted to 18A. The running speed of the spring material 2 with contact 1 is adjusted into 0.4m/min, and the spring material 2 in its longitudinal direction is locally annealed continuously with the heat of the arc. At this time, a perfect shield is attained by Argon gas, so that the shield at the time of local annealing can be made perfect and discoloring be prevented. Also an optimum hardness can be obtained by conducting the annealing at the optimum heating temp., so that occurrence of cracking or folding can be avoided even with an acute angle bending process, a complicated bending process, etc., which is likely at fabricating different types of electric contacts. Accordingly the equipment costs and the expenes for annealing can be reduced.
