Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a local area network station capable of attaining high speed and reliable carrier detection.
CONSTITUTION: A local area network uses a radio communication link and includes a network station that separately has two different polarization antennas 14 and 16. Data communication uses a spread spectrum code. A receiver uses an output of a correlating device for an integrator and register circuit 54 and gives a correlating device output sample which is integrated for a plurality of symbol periods. These values are stored in the register, and a peak value and a sum total value are decided from the contents. The calculated values are applied to a spike quality deciding circuit 78 that includes a read table. A spike quality output value that is acquired as a result represents the quality of a received signal and are used for carrier detection and antenna selection.
