PURPOSE: To close the door of a gate simply and easily without release even when a lock is locked as the door of the gate is left as it is opened.
CONSTITUTION: In an electric lock with a latch 1 slid in the longitudinal direction and a rotatable handleknob rotor 5 connected to a handle, the upper end section of a first interlocking member 13 brought to a freely vertically movable state is connected to a rotatable rotor 14 bonded with either one or both of a key and a thumb-turn while the first interlocking member 13 is coupled with a locking plate 12, which cannot be turned by engaging the lower end section of the member 13 with the handleknob rotor 5. The front end section of a rotatably mounted second interlocking member 15 is arranged onto the top face of the latch 1 while a rear end section is disposed onto the top face of a bearing section 16 installed to the first interlocking member 13, and the locking plate 12 is lowered through the second and first interlocking members 15, 13 by the backward sliding of the latch 1, and engaged with the handleknob rotor 5, thus fixing the handle.
