Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long body support device and support method that can prevent reduction of throughput per unit time.SOLUTION: A support device 1 for a long body AS includes: rotary drive means 3 rotated by a drive unit 31; a plurality of following-rotation means 4A, 4B for supporting the long body AS so that the long body AS can be wound or fed by sandwiching the long body AS between the rotary drive means 3 and each of the following-rotation means 4A, 4B; and displacement means 6 that can individually displace each of the following-rotation means 4A, 4B to a position where the long body AS is sandwiched between the rotary drive means 3 and each of the following-rotation means 4A, 4B to be wound and fed.
