PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate forming work upon manufacture of a cable and minimize the influence on the bending characteristic after the cable is constructed by providing a metal film and/or rubber or plastic film with a connection part for a large length, and arranging the connection part slantly in the longitudinal direction of a tape.
SOLUTION: In a connection part 2 of a metal foil, ends of both metal foils to be connected are cut slantly and superposed, and the portion is connected by soldering. An insulative film 3 is adhered to each of opposite surfaces of the long metal foils. In such a long laminated tape A, the thickness of connection part 2 of the metal foil is dispersed without being concentrated at one position of the longitudinal direction, and thereby a widthwise bending characteristic does not differ from that of another portion. Accordingly, even when a cable is manufactured with the tape A used as a water barrier layer of a water impervious power cable, the forming work and the bending characteristic of the cable finished is substantially equal to that of a portion where there is no connection part.
