Abstract:
To provide a methyl viologen-based reduced-type elecron carrier which is long in a life as a reduced-type electron carrier even in the presence of oxygen in an open air system particularly in the system wherein a photosensitizing dye and a coenzyme exist.
The reduced-type electron carrier is represented by the general formula (wherein R1 is a methyl group; FG is a functional group; and n is an integer of 5-29).
