Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the longest-agreement detection at a high speed only by performing the shifting operations of the maximum of (m) times, and comparing operation by making the L values of the outer and inner data of L bits equal to or smaller than (n) pieces of (m) bit lengths.
SOLUTION: When a START signal is inputted from the outside, a counter 4 and a D-FF 5 are zero-cleared. Then, the external data of 16 bits are inputted into control circuits 1a and 1b by every 8 bits and imparted into associative memories CAM 2a and 2b, which become an associative memory means with the START signal. At this time, when the k-th bit of the outer data is made to be Yk, the j-th bit of the input data of the CAM 2a is made to be X1j, and the j-th bit of the input data of the can 2b is made to be X0j, X1j and Y2j+1 become equal. At this time, (i) is made larger than 0 and smaller than 2, and (j) is made larger than 0 and smaller than 8. Furthermore, the CAM has a mask bit function in general. Thus, the specification of the bits to be compared can be performed.
