Concerning the longitudinally piled merchandise storage rack loaded in an automatic cigarette vending machine or the like, the racks with vend mechanisms 1 forming plural merchandise storage columns 4 arranged from side to side while opening their front faces for each step are vertically piled up for plural steps and a gate board 5 to be also used as a merchandise supporting guide is provided on the front face of each column. In this case, this rack is provided with a hook 8 as a supporting mechanism equipped with a slide type supporting shaft 7 to be engaged/ disengaged with the upper and lower terminal parts of the gate board 5 through operation from the fore side and a lock mechanism for locking the gate board 5 at a closing position and through these supporting mechanism and lock mechanism, the gate board 5 is bridged between side boards 2 on the side of rack and mounted so as to be engaged/disengaged.
