Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the subject system designed to reduce the increase in power consumption during normal operation of a loom and also enabling to retain the initial halt state of loom even if the power is shut off after halting the loom in an umbalanced state of heald frame load.
CONSTITUTION: The revolving shaft 3a of a motor 3 for driving the main shaft 1 of a loom is equipped with an exciting-actuation type brake 4 making a braking operation by coil excitation. The main shaft 1 is equipped with a non- exiting-actuation type brake 31 making a braking operation when the coil is in non-excitation to retain the initial halt state of loom and a control unit 32 is provided to control both the brakes 4 and 31 according to the operational mode of the loom.
