Abstract:
To provide an inexpensive low magnetostrictive element with only a magnetostrictive quantity reduced while keeping magnetic characteristics such as loss and saturation magnetization at desired values, and a powder magnetic core using the element.
The low magnetostrictive element is obtained by molding with an organic compound serving to change the magnetostrictive quantity when used in combination with a powder made of a soft magnetic material added into the powder, and thermally processing a pressed powder member in an inert atmosphere. The absolute value of the magnetostrictive quantity λ0-P(1T/50 Hz) is 1.0×10-6 or smaller. The powder magnetic core using the element is also provided.
