To restrain increase in cost to a minimum due to increase in the number of manufacturing processes and components, and reduce noise by covering a whole iron core with sound-absorbing material, and arranging the sound-absorbing material and vibration isolating material at contact part positions of the iron core and members constituting a transformer.
This low-noise transformer is constituted of an iron core 1, a coil 2, an upper binding metal fixture 5, a lower binding metal fixture 6, and a coil retainer 7. The whole iron core 1 is covered with a sound absorbing material 3, and noise generated from the iron core 1 is absorbed. In a process for covering the core with the sound absorbing material 3, sticking of glass wool, spreading of a foamed sound- absorbing material, etc., are performed. Vibration isolating material 4, constituted of vibration isolating rubber sheets or the like, is arranged at contact part positions of members constituting the transformer, except the iron core 1 members of which are the coil 2, the upper and the lower binding metal fixtures 5, 6, etc., with the iron core 1, and propagation of vibration is prevented. By making the tronsforme such a simple structure, the increase in cost due to the increase in the number of manufacturing processes and components is restrained to a minimum, and noise generated from the transformer is reduced.
