Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricant composition comprising a lubricant and a specific compound as a stabilizer, and stabilized against heat, oxidation or light- induced collapse.
SOLUTION: This lubricant composition comprises a lubricant and at least one of compounds of formula I and II [R1 is a 8-20C alkyl, etc., which are not substituted or are substituted by one or two hydroxyl groups or intermitted with -O-; R2, R2', R2" are each a 1-20C alkyl, allyl, methallyl, etc.; R3 is H, a 1-20C alkyl, a 2-18C alkenyl, etc.; R4 is H, a 1-20C alkyl, a 2-18C alkenyl; Z1 is -S-,-C(Z3)(Z4)-; Z2 is H, a 1-20C alkyl, etc.; Z3, Z4 are each H, methyl] e.g. 2,6-bis-(2'-hydroxyethylthiomethyl)-4-methylphenol. The compound is preferably added in an amount of 0.05-5.0wt.% per the lubricant.
