PURPOSE: To obtain a lubricant containing no lead dispersed in the atmosphere during a hot forging process by mixing a metal soap composition, a polybutene, graphite, a thickener and an aliphatic solvent having a specific flash point.
CONSTITUTION: This lubricant is produced by mixing (A) 5 to 30 wt.% of a metal soap composition which is preferably zinc stearate, zinc naphthenate, (B) 4 to 15 wt.% of a polybutene having a molecular wt. from 2000 to 2300 and a particle size of from 600000 to 800000 SUS (100° F), (C) 3 to 10 wt.% of graphite with a particle diameter of below 325 mesh, (D) 0 to 20 wt.% of a mineral oil produced from preferably treated naphthenic acid based stock, (E) 2 to 20 wt.% of a thichener which is preferably stearic acid (sodium), and (F) an aliphatic solvent which residual part is odorless mineral spirits having a flash point of from 100 to 150 °F, preferably from 105 to 140 °F.
