Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant for metal hot working which has a low friction coefficient and exhibits a sufficient seizure prevention capability even in hot rolling of seamless steel pipes. SOLUTION: This lubricant contains an alkaline earth metal borate (e.g. calcium, magnesium, or barium borate) and an inorg. powder, pref. an inorg. layered compd. (e.g. mica, graphite, or talc). Pref., the lubricant contains 10-90 wt.% alkaline earth metal borate and 90-10 wt.% above-mentioned inorg. powder.
