Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent carburization, which tends to be a problem when graphite lubricant is used, and to prevent the dents on the inside of a pipe due to oxide scale.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of a calcium compound and graphite is used as the lubricating component in a lubricant. The contents of the calcium compound and the graphite in the lubricant are respectively 50-90% and 10-50%. The obtained lubricant has lubricating performance comparable to that consisting of graphite alone and is free from carburization. By descaling the inside of a pipe with high-pressure water before rolling, the dents on the inside of the pipe due to oxide scale can be prevented.
