Abstract:

To provide a lubricating device for an internal combustion engine for preventing the abnormal wear of each part of the internal combustion engine while reducing friction at starting.

The lubricating device for the internal combustion engine includes a main oil pump 32 to be driven by the torque of a crankshaft 22 to forcibly deliver oil to each part of the internal combustion engine 10 to be lubricated, a sub oil pump 40 to be driven by the torque of the crankshaft 22 to forcibly deliver the oil, and having a smaller capacity than the main oil pump 32, and a clutch mechanism 50 for selecting a connecting condition of connecting the crankshaft 22 to the main oil pump 32 between a disconnecting condition of disconnecting the crankshaft 22 from the main oil pump 32. During cranking the crankshaft 22 with a starter 26, the clutch mechanism 50 is controlled to select the disconnecting condition.
