To provide a lubricating device and main shaft equipment in which whether or not grease is reliably supplied at replenishment time is checked without increasing the manufacturing cost, and a long life is achieved in high-speed rotation under lubricating with grease.
The lubricating device 200 detects whether or not the grease is replenished from a grease-supply device 29 to bearings 15, 17, 19 for rotatably supporting the main shaft 13 driven by a driving motor 21. The lubricating device 200 includes a rotational-load detector 35 for detecting the rotational load on the main shaft 13, and a controller 31. If in the controller 31, grease-discharge signals and torque-detection signals issued from the rotational-load detector 35 are inputted, and comparison between rotational torques prior to and subsequent to the grease discharge shows increase, the controller 31 determines that the grease has been discharged. If the torque is not increased, the controller 31 determines that the grease is not discharged.
