Title:
LUBRICATING GREASE COMPOSITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000144164
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a lubricating grease composition excellent in extreme- pressure property, abrasion resistance, anti-oxidant property and corrosion proofing property by keeping a mixture of an aliphatic acid with a synthetic oil, or the like, to a prescribed temperature and adding a titanium alkoxide thereto and treating the mixture under specific conditions.

This lubricating grease composition comprises 2-20 wt.% titanium alkoxide, 2-20 wt.% carboxylic acid, 5.0-35.0 wt.% fatty acid, 0.0-5.0 wt.% water, 20-90 wt.% oil such as mineral oil and 0.01-50 wt.% performance additives. The lubricating grease composition is obtained by together adding a fatty acid such as stearic acid, a carboxylic acid such as acetic acid and a mineral oil or a synthetic oil to form a mixture, stirring and heating the mixture to 70-100°C, adding a titanium alkoxide while maintaining the temperature, raising the temperature to 100-200°C to form a thickened grease product, cooling the product as necessary, adding water thereto, subjecting the mixture to shearing step, adding a performance additive such as antioxidant, an extreme- pressure additive thereto at 160-60°C and homogenizing/milling the mixture.
