Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil additive that has an effect of reducing wear in lubricating oil and an effect of preventing seizure, and a lubricating oil composition containing a lubricating oil additive and base oil.SOLUTION: There is provided a lubricating oil additive containing a calcium-containing polyether compound (A) represented by following general formula (1). R[-(OA)-B(Ca)](1). [Ris a residue obtained by removing f hydroxyl groups from a hydroxyl group-containing compound. (OA) is an oxyalkylene group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms. m is an integer of 2 to 100. 2 or more Amay be the same or different. f is an integer of 1 to 6.
