Abstract:
To obtain a lubricating oil composition for automobile shock absorbers keeping pleasant traveling comfort on running in a wide range of temperatures, exhibiting optimum damping force for long time and capable of continually holding driving stability.
This composition is obtained by compounding (A) a base oil consisting of a mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil with (B) 5.0-20.0 wt.% (based on the total composition) of a distributed polymethacrylate having an average molecular weight of 30,000-60,000 and (C) 0.1-10 wt.% (based on the total composition) of an amine salt of an acid phosphate. Preferably, the kinetic viscosity at 20°C is 20-24 mm2/s, and the Brookfield viscosity at -40°C is 1,500 mPa.s or less.
