Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine having high oxidative stability, sludge resistance and cleanability, comprising a base all for a lubricating oil, an alkaline earth metal-based cleaner, a zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate, a succinimide-based ashless dispersant, an ashless antioxidant, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A base oil for a lubricating oil is mixed with (A) 0.1-0.7wt.% calculated as ash content of sulfuric acid of at least one alkaline earth metal- based cleaner such as an alkaline earth metal sulfonate, an alkaline earth metal phenate and an alkaline earth metal salicylate, (B) 0.01-0.10wt.% calculated as phosphorus atom concentration of a zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate of the formula (R1 and R2 are each 3-12C alkyl), (C) 0.05-0.20wt.% calculated as nitrogen atom concentration of a succinimide-based ashless dispersant and (D) 0.5-3.0wt.% of a phenolic and/or amine-based ashless antioxidant as essential components based on the whole amount of the composition to give the objective lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine having 2.0-6.0 mgKOH/g total base number.
