Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the sealing performance of a mechanical seal by obtaining the uniform oil film in the slidable part when the slidable part of the mechanical seal is lubricated by immersing the mechanical seal part into lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:A mechanical seal 3 is installed onto a crankshaft 1. Said mechanical seal 3 is formed from the first and the second cases 5 and 7, and arranged into a mechanical-seal chamber 9 into which a proper amount of lubricating oil is poured. In other words, the mechanical seal 3 is immersed into the lubricating oil 11. An oil seal 12 is installed onto the outer periphery of the left side part crankshaft 1 in the mechanical-seal chamber 9.
