Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire which can be made thin through the use of a circular fluorescent lamp 1.
SOLUTION: The luminaire comprises a circular luminaire body 11 and the circular fluorescent lamp 1. The luminaire body 11 has an opening 13 formed in the middle thereof, an annular flat-plate part formed around the opening 13, an annular stepped part 16 formed around the flat-plate part, and an annular plate part 17 located above the stepped part 16 and formed through the stepped part 16. The fluorescent lamp 1 is provided with a glass bulb 2 having a tube outer diameter of 25.5 mm or less, and base pins 4 which project toward almost the same direction as a virtual axis of the ring shape of the glass bulb 2. A socket 18 is provided on the plate part 17 of the luminaire body 11 to project in a vertical direction, and the base pins 4 are inserted into the socket 18 in the same vertical direction to establish electrical connection. A lamp holder 21 is provided on the plate part 17 of the luminaire body 11 to project vertically. The glass bulb 2 is held with its outer periphery fitted to the lamp holder 21. A shade 29 is mounted on the luminaire body 11.
