PURPOSE: To provide a luminaire in which a lamp can be changed easily, whose safety at the time of changing the lamp is improved, and which can be installed within a shortened installation time.

CONSTITUTION: A luminaire is provided with a luminaire main body unit 21 and a cover unit 22, the unit 21 has an electricity supplying part 39 to which a power source is supplied and is to be set at high position in the ceiling side, and the unit 22 has a light permeable light controlling cover 56 and while covering the unit 21, the unit 22 is installed in and supported by the luminaire main body unit 21 in the way it can be detached freely from the unit 21. An electricity receiving part 62 which can be connected electrically with the electricity supplying part 39 and disconnected freely from the part 62 and a lamp socket 58 to be connected electrically with the electricity receiving part 62 are respectively installed in the cover unit 22. A lamp 61 to be covered with the light controlling cover 56 is installed in the lamp socket 58 in the way, it can be detached freely. Consequently, the cover unit 22 and the lamp 61 can be handled unitedly and the number of the times of going up and down the stepladder can be lessened at the time of changing the lamp.
