Abstract:

To provide a luminescent element capable of efficiently emitting high-luminance multicolor (especially orange to red) luminescence and an iridium complex for use in the multicolor luminescent element.

The luminescent element includes an organic layer including a luminescent layer formed between a pair of electrodes. The luminescent layer includes and an iridium complex having a specific structure shown in following formula 1, wherein R61 to R66 independently indicate a hydrogen atom or a substitutional group, R67 and R68 independently indicate a substitutional group, and t61 and t62 independently indicate an integer from 0 to 4.
