Abstract:
PURPOSE: To secure safety and easiness which are important as a child's lunch box by including a latch assembly for fixing a lid to a base at a closed position wherein the latch assembly can be automatically hooked when closing the lid and easily unlocked when opening.
CONSTITUTION: The lunch box 10 has a base 12, a lid 14 and a handle 16, each of which is molded of an appropriate synthetic resin material, and rotatably pivoted along rear walls 22, 32 by the same hinge components 42, 48 or the like which are placed at a longitudinal distance from each other. In addition, when the lunch box 10 is closed, it is hooked by a latch assembly which can be cancelled including a holder 62 attached to a base front wall 20 and a pivoting latch 64 integrally molded with a front wall 30 of the lid 14. A separate lock assembly is further provided, wherein two separate collars 100 of the handle 16 and a lag 106 or a lock bracket 104 of the incorporating lid 14 are positioned only at a storage position of the handle 16 facing the front wall 20 of the base 12 where it can be engaged or disengaged, so as to prevent the lunch box 10 from accidentally opening.
