Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R is alkyl, alkylamino, dialkylamino, or amino; R' is H halogen, alkyl, or alkoxy), and its acid addition salt.

EXAMPLE: A compound of formula V.

USE: Pharmaceuticals having a controlling activity of digestive organs, e.g. promotion of the gastroenteric function, inhibitior of vomiting, etc., a psychotropic function and an antispasmodic activity. Lower toxicity than metoclopramide.

PROCESS: 1mol of an aniline of formula II is made to react with 1mol of a sulfonic acid halogenide of formula IV (X is halogen) or 2mol of a sulfonic acid halogenide to form a compound of formula III. Then -SO2R of the reaction product is eliminated using alkali hydroxide to give a compound of formula I.
