To manufacture Cr-containing bar-steel material capable of enhancing the scale peelability and having excellent surface property even when the Cr-containing bar-steel material contains Cr exerting adverse effect on the scale peelability.
In a method for manufacturing Cr-containing bar-steel material including a step of: heating and descaling a steel slab containing ≥0.1% Cr (by mass%, hereinafter, referred to the chemical component of steel); and hot-rolling the descaled steel slab, the heating is executed under the following condition. (Heating condition) Heating temperature: 1,150-1,250°C, temperature-raising rate from the room temperature to the heating temperature: 5-30°C/min, holding time at the heating temperature: 3-60 seconds, holding atmosphere at the heating temperature: atmosphere in which O2 concentration is 10-30 vol.%.
