This promoter is a new modified human U6 snRNA gene promoter having a substituted sequence between a proximal sequence element of human U6 snRNA gene promoter and TATA box by a heterogeneous DNA sequence bindable to a DNA binding protein, usable for controlling transcription of an optional RNA such as anti-sense RNA or ribozyme in a mammalian cell and useful for a composition for cancer treatment. This promoter is obtained from genome DNA by cloning, i.e., applying amplification with PCR using sense primer and anti-sense primer.
