Abstract:
To provide a machine tool which can reduce the workload of an operator.SOLUTION: A machine tool includes a cover 15 which covers a machining section 10 on a top face of a bed 11. The cover 15 extends and contracts as a whole by combining first to fourth cover bodies 21 to 24 in a telescopic state, so that a front face of the machining section 10 can be opened/closed. A table 12 is provided to be reciprocable in a right and left direction on the bed 11. Opening/closing movement directions of the second to fourth cover bodies 22 to 24 are inclined to a longitudinal direction in plan view, and a front wall section of the fourth cover body 24 is positioned on the machining section 10 side of front wall sections of the other cover bodies 21 to 23. Therefore, also a lower rail 34 for supporting the fourth cover body 24 is positioned on a rear side of the machining section 10 side. As a result, an operator can approach the machining section 10 side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
