Abstract:
To provide a machine tool which can perform cut-off detection and thermal displacement correction by use of a common detector, and has good thermal displacement correction accuracy.SOLUTION: A machine tool comprises a tool holding part 30, a detector 40, and control means. The tool holding part 30 has plural tools Tx of which a tip is oriented in an X-axis direction, and which include a cut-off bite Bd for performing cutting-off for a work-piece W. The detector 40 detects that a contact part 41 and the work-piece W held by a work-piece holding part contact each other in the X-axis direction. The control means controls a relative position of the work-piece W held by the work-piece holding part and the tool holding part 30. The control means determines whether cutting-off is performed or not on the basis of the detection result of the detector 40, and corrects thermal displacement in the X-axis direction on the basis of the detection result of the detector 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
