To suppress the transmission of heat generated by a refrigerator in a machine room to a merchandise housing chamber by providing a heat insulating body of low heat conductivity on which a reflection layer provided with infrared reflectivity on a lower surface is laminated in at least a part of the ceiling surface of the machine room.
A heat insulating body 26 of low heat conductivity on which a reflection layer 26A provided with infrared reflectivity on a lower surface is laminated is stuck to the rear face of a horizontal partition plate 13 to be the ceiling of a machine room 13A. The body 26 is constructed by laminating a heat insulating material layer made of a low conductivity material, e.g. material such as urethane, polyprene and polyethylene or a closed-cell foaming resin, a heat insulating paint film primally made of a hollow ceramic spherical body formed on the both faces of the heat insulating material layer and the layer 26A provided with infrared reflectivity formed by covering one heat insulating paint film. Then, the layer 26A side is arranged downward turning to the room 13A. Since heat rays (infrared ray) generated in the room 13A are reflected against the layer 26A in the body 26A, heat value transmitting to the heat insulating material layer through the heat insulating paint film is small.
