To provide a machine tool equipped with a cover, with which a workpiece is machined inside a machining area covered with the cover and the workpiece can be received and delivered outside of the cover.

The cover 11 covers the machining area 9 having a main shaft 3 supported freely movably in the axial center direction and having a tool 8 for machining a workpiece 6 held on the tip end of the main shaft 3. In a position opposing the main shaft 3 of the cover 11, an opening section 12, which is blocked so as to be freely opened/closed by a blocking section 13, is provided. The moving range of the main shaft 3 is set so that the tip end of the main shaft 3 protrudes outside of the cover 11 through the opening section 12 in an opened state. In a closed state of the opening section 12, the workpiece 6 is machined in the machining area and, in the opened state of the opening section 12, the workpiece 6 is received and delivered relative to the main shaft 3 outside the cover 12.
