To provide a machine tool capable of transferring a turret to an unclamping state from a clamping state with a simple constitution.
This machine tool has a base, turret type tool posts 15 and 17 arranged on the base, having revolvably the turret and movably arranged between a processing position and a revolving indexing position, a turret clamping means arranged on the turret type tool posts and putting the turret in the clamping state by regulating revolving of the turret, a clamp releasing cylinder mechanism 111 arranged on the base or the turret type tool posts, operating by using transfer operation to the revolving indexing position from the processing position of the turret type tool posts and putting the turret in the unclamping state by releasing clamping of the turret by the turret clamping means, and a stopper part arranged on the turret type tool posts or the base side and operating a piston by pressing the piston of the clamp releasing cylinder mechanism.
