Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool that can increase a range of movement of a main shaft head and increase a degree of freedom of processing a work piece.SOLUTION: A machine tool 1 comprises: a main shaft 20 to one end of which a tool for processing a work piece is attached; a motor 22 coupled to the other end of the main shaft 20; a main shaft head 2 holding the main shaft 20 holding the main shaft in a rotatable manner around an axis, the main shaft head movable in a shaft length direction of the main shaft 20; and a magazine having a gripping part 5 for gripping the tool and facing the main shaft head 2. The main shaft head 2 has: a cam 24 projecting toward the magazine; and a support base 21 supporting the motor 22. The gripping part 5 has a cam follower 52 that comes into contact with or separates from the cam 24 as the main shaft head 2 moves. The support base 21 is located in a relative movement path of the cam follower 52 with respect to the main shaft head 2, and has a recess part 21b recessed inside the support base 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
