Abstract:
To provide a machine tool and a machining method which continuously and easily performs eccentric work.SOLUTION: A machining method has an eccentric chuck 3 which holds a workpiece W in an eccentric state with respect to an axial center of a predetermined rotation shaft (illustrated as a front main shaft 2) and an opposite chuck 13 arranged freely rotatably opposite to the eccentric chuck, and performs eccentric machining of the workpiece held by the eccentric chuck. The machining method includes: a process of causing the opposite chuck to hold an eccentric machining portion of the workpiece; a process of releasing the holding of the workpiece by the eccentric chuck; a process of changing a phase between the eccentric chuck and the workpiece by rotation of the eccentric chuck or the opposite chuck; a process of releasing the holding of the eccentric machining portion of the workpiece by the opposite chuck; a process of causing the eccentric chuck to hold the workpiece and rotating the eccentric chuck; and a process of performing eccentric machining other than the eccentric machining, of the rear side of the eccentric machining portion of the workpiece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
