PURPOSE: To change many translated words by inexpensive communication cost, to provide machine translation to many and unspecified users and to effi ciently execute the changing work of translated words.
CONSTITUTION: When a user sends an inquiry mail for inquiring the registered contents of a shared/private dictionary YD from a translation requesting device 11 to a machine translator 12, a shared/private dictionary managing part 126 reads out the registered contents of the dictionary YD and informs an inquiring user of the read contents. When the user sends a translation requesting mail including information specifying translated words to be used, a translation processing part 122 translates a translation request text based upon the specifying information while referring to the dictionary YD.
