In the washing/drying machine, the imbalance control before a high-speed dewatering step is executed (S101) while a drum is rotated at low or medium speed in a final dewatering step just before the drying operation to determine whether imbalance is present or not (S102). When there is no imbalance (S102), subtle imbalance control at the start of the high-speed dewatering step is executed (S103) to determine whether the subtle imbalance is present or not (S104). When the subtle imbalance is not present (S104: Yes), the stabilized high-speed dewatering operation is started (S105).
