An attaching screw part 24 screwed in the supporting screw part of a revolver and an attaching surface 23 abutting on the abutting surface of the revolver are machined on the lens barrel 1 incorporating an objective lens. The lens barrel 1 is equipped with a chuck 2 holding the lens barrel 1, a spindle 5 rotating the chuck 2, an optical system 9 radiating measuring light to the objective lens in the lens barrel, a moving means 26 having an image fetching means 14 arranged at a position where the measuring light is transmitted through the objective lens and formed into an image and adjusting the relative distance of the image fetching means to the lens barrel in the axial direction of the center of rotation of the spindle 5, a display means 15 by which the state of a spot formed in the image fetching means can be judged, a position adjusting mechanism part 4 adjusting the relative positions of the chuck 2 and the spindle 5 so as to align the specified light receiving position and the image forming position of the image fetching means, and machining tools 16 and 18 machining the attaching surface of the lens barrel in a state where space with the light receiving position of the image fetching means is kept constant and machining the attaching screw part.
