Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining method for an end face of a non-circular column-shaped barlike workpiece for forming a highly precise machining face and avoiding damage of a cutting tool.
SOLUTION: In this machining method for the end face of the non-circular column-shaped barlike workpiece 10, a reference circle surrounding the whole face of the machining face centered on an axial line of the barlike workpiece is provided on the machining face 111 which is the end face of the non-circular column shaped barlike workpiece. A compensating block 20 is added and fixed to one end part having at least the machining face of the barlike workpiece to extend a peripheral fringe 221 of the machining face up to at least a peripheral fringe of the reference circle. Lastly, the machining face is cut by lathe machining.
