Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture reduction gears for high reduction ratio which are inexpensive without reducing their quality when a prime mover for high speed such as gas turbine and steam turbine is used.
CONSTITUTION: In reduction gears for high reduction ratio which are constituted by meshing small gears A with a large gear B, pitch error and surface roughness of the small gears A are finished by a predetermined machining method and the large gear B is finished by rough finish machining to cover the large gear B by copper plating. Projections 2 of copper plating which float from tooth faces of the large gear B are removed due to relative slide and rolling between tooth faces by meshing and rotating the large gear B with the small gears A to finish surface roughness of the tooth face to a specified roughness. The thickness (b) of copper plating which covers the large gear B is set to the thickness which slightly exceeds average roughness (a) calculated by measuring roughness of the tooth face of the large gear B.
