PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for machine processing of steel edge of ski and the like, the above method for hardened steel edge, the ski with the above steel edge and the above apparatus for plasma head for avoiding unacceptable fragility of and damage to materials surrounding the ski edge, by generating electronic arc between the cathode and the anode of the plasma head, electrically connecting and polarizing the steel edge into an anode as the similar anode to the anode of the plasma head. SOLUTION: The ski S is pressed on a bearing roller 7 by a press roller 8, and the apparatuses 10 which generate plasma jet for heating the steel edge are installed on the both sides of the ski S. The head 9 has a casing which consists of the upper part 13 and the lower part 14, and as the parts 13 and 14 are separated from each other and electrically insulated in an insulator part 15. Inside of the upper part 13, the cathode is installed and interchangeably fixed in a supporting part, and inside of the lower part 14, a gas diversion lead piece 20 which has an exit opening 21 is installed. The steel edge is electrically connected and polarized into an anode as the similar anode to the anode of the plasma head 9.
