Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide novel chelate compounds having desired chelating properties to many metal ions and useful in therapy, diagnosis or the like.
CONSTITUTION: Desired macrocyclic chelate compounds are represented by formula I [wherein R1-R4 are each -CH2COOH; (n) is 1-5; and (x) is -NO2, -NH2, -NCS,-NHCOCH2-Z (wherein Z is Br or I),-OCH2COOH or -COOH; M is a metal ion of an element selected from the group consisting of Bi, Pb, Y, Ac and lanthanoids] and include, e.g. a chelate of the compound of formula II. The compounds of the formula I can be obtained, e.g. by reacting a compound of formula IV obtained from a compound of formula III as the starting material with the carboxylic acid compound of the formula: BrCH2CO2H and then, subjecting the resulting compound to chelating.
